It has been a different story for the Hurricanes who haven't been the same team the previous ten games going 4-5-1. During their last ten games, they have only averaged 2.50 goals per game. Defensively not much separates them, as they are both good defensive teams. However, the Leafs have the goalie advantage in this one with Joseph Woll expected in net who is 14-6-0 with a 2.46 GAA and .915 SV%. Compared to the Hurricanes' expected goalie Pyotr Kochetkov who is 15-9-1 with 2.50 GAA and .902 SV%. Much like their offenses and team, Woll has been on fire in his last five starts going 5-0-0 with a 2.00 GAA and .934 SV%, while Kochetkov has struggled by going 1-3-1 with a 2.79 GAA and .897 SV%. Expect the trend to continue with the Maple Leafs winning as a road underdog.

The Golden Knights are the hottest team in the NHL right now going 9-1 in their last ten averaging 3.80 goals per game while only allowing 1.70. Meanwhile, the Islanders continue to be one of the worst teams in the league, allowing 3.80 goals per game in their last ten. Significantly higher than their already horrible 22nd-ranked 3.18 goals allowed this season. To top it off Vegas is going with G Adin Hill who is 17-6-2 with a 2.58 GAA and .904 SV%, while the Islanders are expected to go with the struggling G Ilya Sorokin who is 12-13-4 with a 2.92 GAA and .898 SV%. Recent play further solidifies the Knights' advantage as Hill went 4-1-0 with a 1.81 GAA and .927 SV% in his last five starts, compared to Sorokin who went 2-3-0 with 3.42 GAA and .873 SV%. Back the red-hot Golden Knights at home to dominate the struggling Islanders.
