Defense is what sets these teams apart as the Blue Jackets allow the 2nd most goals per game and have the 3rd worst penalty kill. G Jet Greaves will be making his season debut for the Blue Jackets and it couldn't be in a harder situation. As for the Capitals, Charlie Lindgren will be in the net with a 2.80 GAA and .894 SV% on the season. Expect the Capitals to take advantage of the Blue Jackets' porous defense and inexperience in the net. This will be a high-scoring game with both teams facing favorable goalie matchups.

The Wild are one of the league's best teams this year, largely due to their stout defense and tremendous goalkeeping from Filip Gustavsson. He gets the nod tonight at home and has been spectacular, boasting a 2.08 GAA and .927 SV%. As for the Oilers, it will be Calvin Pickard defending the crease who has a 2.55 GAA and .892 SV%. Unlike Gustavsson, Pickard has been inconsistent, so he has been used sparingly in favor of starting goalie Stuart Skinner. Both teams have produced similarly in terms of goals scored and allowed, with the Wild having the edge in both. The Wild allow the lowest goals per game and score the 12th most. As for the Oilers, they allow the 8th lowest and score the 16th most. Don't underestimate this Wild team, especially at home, they are the better team and have the much better keeper, take advantage of the plus odds.
