It’s been a rough start to the season for Philly, but they catch a break today. Their offense has been quiet in the last couple games but that’s what happens when you go back-to-back games against two of the AL’s best. They’re still hitting .287 (5th best) on the season. They’re up against Germán today who hasn’t looked too sharp. In his final two spring starts, 9 ER in just 5 IP. The Phillies deploy their bullpen today, starting with Matt Strahm. He’s good for 65 pitches today. 6 of the 9 Yankees with previous at bats are hitless vs Strahm and DJ LeMahieu hit’s .167. After Strahm there’s plenty of high leverage relievers to roll out. Alverado, Dominguez, Kimbrel, Soto. All + Arms to try and nail down Phillies first win. Considering they’re up against Gerrit Cole tomorrow, this is a must win. This Phillies roster is just too talented to not put it together. Great Value with the + odds today.
Bonus Pick: (STL) Paul Goldschmidt Over 1.5 Total Bases
Goldy is on fire to start the season. He’s batting .500 while slugging .750. He gets Braves Rookie Dylan Dodd to start today’s game. Apart from making his first ever start, he’s a lefty. Goldschmidt’s career slash line vs LH pitching: .329/.435/.613, and last year’s was .411/.515/.813. Dodd’s final spring start came against the Red Sox. Boston’s best bets were in the line-up that day. He gave up 8 hits, walked 2, allowing 3 ER. Dodd’s only made 1 start at Triple-A during his time in the minors. Goldy’s gone over 1.5 total bases in all 4 games this season. This total’s set at 10 too, they’re expecting plenty of action.
