Week 7 of the NFL Kicks Off with an NFC battle between teams looking to salvage their season. The New Orleans Saints and Arizona Cardinals both come into this game at 2-4. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:15p.m. eastern time at State Farm Stadium.

New Orleans Saints (2-4)

Andy Dalton is likely to make his 4th start for the Saints. He’s 1-2, with a Win over Seattle and losses to Cincinnati and Minnesota. He’s completed 63.1% of his passes for 585 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 1 interception. The big news coming out of New Orleans is the injury bug, both WR Michael Thomas and WR Jarvis Landry have been ruled out. Starting guard Andrus Peat and star CB Marshon Lattimore are also ruled out. There is some good news, standout rookie WR Chris Olave returns from a concussion. He has 25 receptions for 389 yards and 2 touchdowns through 5 games.

Arizona Cardinals (2-4)

Like New Orleans the Cardinals are also riddled with injuries. WR Marquise Brown is expected to miss at least a month after leaving last weeks game with a foot injury. Starting Center Rodney Hudson and starting G Justin Pugh are out. RB James Conner is questionable after missing practice all week, and his back-up Darrel Williams is ruled out. Even their kicker Matt Prater is questionable. They too get a WR back and it’s 5-time pro-bowler Deandre Hopkins. Hopkins was serving a 6 game suspension and has been away from the team.

The Pick

Rondale Moore over 4.5 receptions. WR Hollywood Brown and the 10+ targets he commanded every week are headed to the IR. Everyone’s looking forward to the return of DeAndre Hopkins but he’s not going to be full go. He’s been away from the team his entire 6-week suspension and hasn’t played a single snap of live football since December 13th, 2021. WR Rondale Moore is going to be the immediate beneficiary of the Marquise Brown injury. He works underneath and has seen plenty of volume already. He’s played in 3 games this season, missing the first 3 weeks due to injury. In his last 2 and fully healthy appearances, 6 catches on 10 targets and 7 catches on 8 targets. Even on a limited snap count in his first week back from injury he saw 5 targets. The first 3 weeks that Rondale Moore didn’t play, Greg Dortch filled his spot. Dortch averaged 6.6 catches per game during that span and he’s half the player Moore is. This Over 4.5 would be a good play without the Brown injury. D-Hop isn’t going to replace Brown’s target share just yet. And as a bonus, the Saints best cover corner Marshon Lattimore is ruled out for this week.
