Nestor Cortes was just sent to the IL which brings Marcus Stroman back into the starting rotation. It's his first start since he faced the Royals at Home September 10th. He allowed 3 runs on 7 hits and 2 walks across 5.1 IP that day. He has a 4.87 ERA in 15 starts at Home with 15 Homeruns allowed. Baltimore's 2nd in HR's this year. He has a 5.24 ERA since the All-Star Break too. There's a reason he was bumped out of the rotation for younger guys. He also didn't find out he was making this start until this morning.

BAL SP Zach Eflin has a 2.31 ERA in 8 starts for the Orioles since being acquired at the deadline. He has a career 2.11 ERA in 8 starts against the Yankees and a 3.13 ERA in 4 starts at Yankees Stadium. He's allowed 2 runs or less through the First 5 innings in 7 straight starts. He has the best BB/9 among qualified pitchers and that's important against the league leaders in Walks. That'll help prevent Soto and Judge from coming up to bat for a third time inside the First 5 innings. We don't trust this Orioles bullpen 1 bit, especially in New York.
