Both teams are run heavy, ranking 31st and 40th in rush rate. Both teams also excel defensively ranking 21st and 7th in rushing yards allowed per carry. Neither offense is prolific passing, and they'll stick to the ground game because of it. Notre Dame QB Riley Leonard threw for just 90 yards in their win over Georgia. Penn State QB Drew Allar threw for 171 against Boise and just 127 against SMU. HC Marcus Freeman and James Franklin are also rather conservative for the current College Football landscape. They play through their defense and aren't overly aggressive on 4th downs. This one should play out more old school in that way, featuring punts in situations you might see offensive minded coaches push the envelope.
