2 Picks (6 Units).
6:30PM EST: Marquette vs St. John's Under 147.5 (3 Units).
Both squads play some very handsy defense. Hard to see there being much room to operate on offense for both squads. Marquette's 220th in 3-PT % and St. John's is 329th. They aren't exactly elite inside either, ranking 60th and 144th in 2-PT%. In the event it's a closely called game with plenty of Free Throws, they're just 144th and 255th in Free Throw Percentage. They're 51st and 60th in fouls per possession though so that shouldn't be a major issue. St. John's holds a massive rebounding edge but Marquette's ranked 1st in turnovers per game and 2nd in opponent turnovers per game. It'll help negate St. John's usual turnover edge. The Red Storm are 7th in opponent turnovers per game but 133rd in turnovers per game. It should be a typical physical Big East battle. Hard to see consistent scoring throughout this game without some quality perimeter shooting to open the floor.
9PM EST: Texas Tech -8 (3 Units).
Per KenPom Texas Tech is ranked 9th overall, 9th in offensive and 34th in defensive rating. They just went on the road and beat Houston outright. They're hosting Baylor coming off that impressive win over Kansas, but it came at a cost. They lost VJ Edgecombe indefinitely and the Freshman was playing incredible ball of late. He's their 2nd leading scorer, 2nd ranked 3-PT Shooter, steals leader, and accounts for 5.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game. It's a huge loss on both ends of the floor and takes away their deadly 3-PT shooting triple threat. Baylor could see Roach or Love return but they've struggled on the road this year with and without them. They're 2-5 in true road games this season. They lost at BYU by 4, beat Utah by 15, lost at Arizona by 11, beat ASU by 6, lost at Iowa State by 19, lost at UCONN by 4, and lost at Gonzaga by 38. They've lost to good teams and been handled by the Elite teams, and that's exactly what Texas Tech is. ISU, Gonzaga, and Arizona just so happen to rank right behind Tech at 10th, 11th, and 12th.
