8:30PM EST: Marquette -24 (3 Units). ✅
Stony Brook was one of the best teams ATS last season, but they've totally reconstructed their roster, starting 5 new transfers. There's an obvious talent gap here but there's also a continuity issue. Takes time to Gel and this is an exceptionally bad matchup for them. Marquette plays a high-pressure defense, ranking 19th in steals per game last year and 6th the year before that. They lost a couple key starters but have been replaced in house. 3 of their starting 5 are going on year number 4 with Marquette and the other 2 on year number 3. Even their bench guys have stuck around. It's a rare thing these days and a testament to the program that Shaka Smart's built. They will play their typical brand of basketball regardless of who's on the floor. There may not be much of a talent gap once starters are pulled late but there will be a coaching one. Like the Golden Eagles to show out at Home enough to cover the number here. Extra possessions will help.
