One of College Basketball’s best big men has had plenty of success against Marquette. He put up 18 (8-14 FG) in their latest match-up and 10 points (5-7) on limited minutes (19) back on January 12th. Last year he scored 24 (9-18) in his one healthy game against the Golden Eagles as well. Marquette’s rim protector, Oso Ighodaro; stands 6 foot 9. Same as Sanogo. The thing is he’s 30 pounds lighter. If you’ve never seen Sanogo in action, he is a grown ass man that plays very physical down low. A match-up nightmare for a smaller Marquette team. The Huskies also rank 2nd in the Nation in rebound rate (led by Sanogo) while Marquette ranks 305th. He’s in line for quite a bit of work and he’s due for a big night. He’s scored just 10 and 9 points in UConn’s last 2 games and has never gone 3 straight games without scoring at least 15 points this season. He’s also a 36.2% 3-point shooter too. He doesn’t take too many, but he’s capable. Big night for Uconn’s leading scorer.
